Effortel was founded in Brussels, Belgium in 2006 by our CEO Arkadi Panitch with the idea of launching a global brand. At the time, the concept of Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) had begun influencing regulators to demonopolize and deregulate the hold of traditional Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) head on the telecommunications market. Also, telecommunications legislation was being improved in favor of MVNOs, providing us with the perfect timing to enter the global arena of telecommunications.
We began by partnering up with Carrefour retailer and launching the Carrefour Mobile brand in their worldwide operations. Within the year, we had 4 successful running operations in Belgium, Italy, Poland, and Thailand with approximately 285 000 customers. In 2008, we established ourselves as a Mobile Virtual Network Enabler (MVNE). This allowed us to share our knowledge and expertise with MVNOs who lacked the know-how on how to enable their own operations. Since then we have deployed and have been running a centralized, cloud-based, real-time intelligent network system.
Our list of clients and partners includes quad players in Europe, MVNOs in Europe and Africa, as well as MNOs in the Middle East, Euro-Asia, Asia, and Africa. The MVNO’s market segments of diversity encompasses retails, ethnic-wise, and banks. The latter covers banking MVNOs for the largest Kenyan bank and second-largest Russian bank.
